If sources are to be believed, Malayalam Superstar Mammootty, was the initial choice for the antagonist role in Vijay 60. But, Mammootty denied the offer, even though he liked the story. Sources close to Mammootty revealed why the actor decided to turn down such a prestigious project.
According to the sources, Mammootty was not ready to play a cliched villain, opposite a young hero. The actor felt that the role had nothing new to offer, even though the concept of the film was interesting. Mammootty has no issues in being a part of small projects if his character is fresh and challenging.
Meanwhile, the shooting is all set to begin in May 2, 2016. The team has planned to can a song in a grand set erected in Binny Mills, Chennai. ‘Vijay 60’ produced by Vijaya Productions stars Vijay and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles. Music is being composed by Santhosh Narayanan. The film is touted to be a family entertainer and slated for Pongal 2017.
